Meet our professors
Studio 671 Jiujitsu is led by black belt instructors and co-owners Professor Carlos “Charlie” Quitugua and Professor Myrna Quitugua, bringing over a decade of experience, discipline, and heart to the mats.
Charlie began training in 1998 while working in law enforcement and later trained under Professor Rexie Barnum at Alliance BJJ Hawaii. After moving to Idaho in 2021, he earned his black belt from Professors Sam and Melissa Campanella at 208 Jiujitsu Academy. A retired federal law enforcement officer and Lead Control Tactics Instructor, he brings a calm, structured, and practical approach to teaching.
Myrna began training alongside Charlie in 2012 under Professor Rexie Barnum at Alliance BJJ Hawaii and continued her journey in Idaho, earning her black belt from Professors Sam and Melissa Campanella at 208 Jiujitsu Academy. She has a deep passion for working with special needs and neurodiverse individuals, creating a supportive and inclusive environment for every student.
Jiu-jitsu has always been a family journey—their children started training with them in 2012 and continue to train today, helping shape the family-focused culture of Studio 671 Jiujitsu.
Together, Charlie and Myrna are committed to building a welcoming community where students of all backgrounds grow confidence, resilience, and purpose—on and off the mats.
